Reviewers
ASIDE Internal Medicine is looking for peer reviewers. Reviewing here is free, it does not require society membership, and it is the route to every editorial place this journal fills.
What a review involves
- Review is double-anonymous - you do not see the authors, and they do not see you.
- We ask for a reply to an invitation within three days, and the report within fourteen.
- Declining is a normal answer. Declining quickly is a useful one.
- Declare any conflict of interest and step aside where one exists.
What you get for it
- A verified certificate of peer review, issued automatically when the manuscript reaches a final decision, carrying a verification number anyone can check. It names the manuscript only if the manuscript was published - peer review is confidential and an unpublished paper may be under review elsewhere.
- A reviewing record held by the society - reviews completed, journals served, timeliness - which you can cite in a CV or a promotion file.
- Consideration for editorial roles. ASIDE fills Associate and Section Editor places from people whose reviewing it already knows. No number of reviews earns an appointment automatically, and we will not pretend otherwise.
The full recognition programme - levels, certificates, annual service records - is on the society site: Review with ASIDE.
Why this journal
ASIDE Internal Medicine is open access and charges no article processing charges. Nobody is paying to be published here, which means a reviewer's judgement is the only thing standing between a manuscript and the literature. That is the whole reason the role matters.
How to volunteer
Create an account on this journal, then write to the editorial office with your ORCID iD and the subjects you can review. Editors invite reviewers from that pool - there is no queue to join and no waiting list to sit on.
