ASIDE Gastroenterology Vol. 2, No. 1 (February 1, 2026) brings together clinically relevant scholarship across esophageal oncology, transplant pharmacology, interventional endoscopy, and uncommon gastrointestinal presentations. The issue features three original investigations: a prospective study comparing outcomes of esophageal stent placement in patients with esophageal cancer, a systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the impact of vonoprazan on tacrolimus blood levels in transplant recipients, and a real-world retrospective study examining the association between endoscopic sphincterotomy and the risk of pyogenic liver abscess. Complementing these studies are two instructive case reports that highlight diagnostically and clinically challenging scenarios, including gastrointestinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma and emphysematous gastritis in the setting of concomitant COVID-19 infection and celiac trunk stenosis. Collectively, this issue reflects ASIDE’s commitment to rigorous, practice-focused research that informs clinical decision-making and advances the field of gastroenterology.
