ASIDE Cardiovascular, Volume 1, Issue 2 (2026), published on 15 September 2026, continues the journal with two national mortality-trend analyses, an experimental study of radiation-induced cardiac injury, and two case reports, spanning cardiogenic shock and sepsis, coronary microvascular protection, decompensated heart failure, rheumatic mitral valve disease, and ischemic heart disease and procedure-related mortality.

Two retrospective analyses of United States national data examine mortality trends: a national analysis of cardiogenic shock and sepsis-related mortality from 1999 to 2025, with disparities and forecasts to 2040, and a twenty-five-year picture of mortality involving ischemic heart disease and cardiac procedure-related conditions from 1999 to 2023.

A preclinical study reports that Ac-SDKP maintains coronary microvascular barrier function and prevents radiation-induced cardiac injury.

The issue also presents two case reports: acute decompensated heart failure with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction of undetermined etiology in a 26-year-old man, and dysphagia megalatriensis secondary to rheumatic severe mitral regurgitation with a giant left atrium.
