Peer Review Policy for ASIDE Health Sciences: Double-Blind Process

1. Introduction to Peer Review

Peer review is an essential quality assurance mechanism in scholarly publishing. At ASIDE Health Sciences, we use this process to evaluate the originality, validity, and significance of submissions before publication.

2. Peer Review Model

We employ a double-blind peer review system, in which authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This approach mitigates bias and promotes impartiality, ensuring that decisions are based solely on scientific merit.

3. Peer Review Workflow

  • Submission: Authors submit de-identified manuscripts via the online system.

  • Editorial Screening: Manuscripts are assessed for scope, quality, and compliance with submission standards.

  • Reviewer Selection: Experts are invited based on content relevance and conflict-free status.

  • Evaluation: Reviewers assess originality, methodology, ethical compliance, and clarity.

  • Editorial Decision: Based on reviews, decisions include acceptance, minor/major revisions, or rejection.

  • Revisions & Final Acceptance: Revised manuscripts may be re-reviewed as needed before acceptance and publication.

Policies on Editorial Involvement and Endogeny

To maintain objectivity:

  • Editors with any authorship role in a manuscript must recuse themselves from all editorial duties regarding that submission.

  • Another independent editor will handle the manuscript to avoid bias.

  • Editorial authors will not access peer review content or influence outcomes for their submissions.
