Indexing

Indexing and discoverability

ASIDE Pediatrics is a newly established journal. This page states plainly where it currently stands. It will be updated as each application concludes, and it will not claim coverage the journal does not have.

Current status

ISSN
Not yet assigned. Applications for a print and an online ISSN are in preparation.
DOI prefix
Not yet assigned. Crossref membership and prefix registration are in progress. Articles will carry registered DOIs once a prefix has been issued; until then they do not.
DOAJ
Not listed. The Directory of Open Access Journals requires an ISSN and a published record, so an application cannot be made until both exist.
PubMed and PubMed Central
Not indexed. No application has been submitted.
Scopus
Not indexed. No application has been submitted.
Web of Science
Not indexed. No application has been submitted.

What is in place today

  • Every article is open access from the day of publication under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with no article processing charge at any stage.
  • Article and issue metadata are exposed for harvesting over OAI-PMH.
  • Content is preserved so that it remains available if the journal ceases publication.
  • Articles are discoverable through general web search engines and Google Scholar.

Why we put this in writing

Indexing claims are easy to make and hard to retract, and a page outlives the claim printed on it. If you are deciding where to submit, weigh this honestly: work published in ASIDE Pediatrics is permanently open, citable and preserved, but it will not surface in a MEDLINE or Scopus search until those applications succeed.
